pyltjies innie sand

Description

Author: Francis Grobler

Hardback

Debut of Francis Grobler with a collection of 74 poems.

In 1994, Grobler lost her brother – the cause of her first poetry. Thirteen years later, a humbled and largely tight knit poems are compiled in the anthology, pyltjies innie sand. A timidly anthology, but not overcautious. As farm child and extraordinary thinker nature roots grew through her and her appreciation for the earth and its simplicity is reflected in her word art. It is also the beginning of a writing style without capitals, which Grobler expresses her smallness before God and in writing. It becomes a kind of “institution” of Grobler’s works.
16 songs are born from these poems and sung by Tony Ridgway and by Wynand Strydom.
