South Africa loses untold amounts of money due to fraud every year. This is true of most, if not all parts of the economy. Much of this book looks at the medical aid industry, but the same kind of thing can, and probably does apply elsewhere as well.
By my calculations, South African medical aid schemes may have lost around R100 billion in the past five years due to wrong choices, ignorance, inept fraud investigations and a lack of education of the members of the schemes.
Just imagine the size of the total problem!
